I am a self-taught artist based in Austin, Texas. I accidentally stumbled into my creative path while teaching my son the alphabet with sidewalk chalk. What started with monsters and robots on the driveway has grown into large-scale murals in chalk and paint for businesses and events. Whether the work is permanent or impermanent, my goal is the same... to spark joy. When I'm not creating, you'll likely find me chasing squirrels from my bird feeders, indulging in chocolate, or watching the latest documentary.

“We worked with Shelley to help redesign and refresh our chalkboard in our locations. Because the chalkboards in Kerbey Lane have existed since its inception it was important for us to work with someone who not only has creativity but is detail oriented, communicative and has the same positive and fun spirit of Kerbey Lane. We were overjoyed to work with Shelley as she was the perfect fit for us! During a sometimes-chaotic art approval process, Shelley persevered. We change our mind a lot and she took it in stride and helped lead us to the finish line. We’re so happy with our new boards that embody Kerbey Lane so well!”

"I hired Shelley a few years ago for a small job. Her talent, stunning designs, kindness, and professionalism made us keep coming back for more. Shelley ended up doing all our Taproom Art at Austin Eastciders season after season. Each piece better than the one before. Shelley is a force and if you are thinking of hiring her - DO IT. You will get nothing but compliments and smiles when your guests look at her designs.”
Emily Murphey, Former Assistant GM
Austin Eastciders

“Shelley is a dream to work with as she is communicative, caring, and truly passionate about what she does and wants her clients to be happy. She has such a great artistic and creative side to her that I fully believe will fit any business or request for a design. She sharpens her skills to be knowledgeable about the brand, community, and what the business needs. I 100% recommend Accidental Chalk Artist and know you will be happy if you go with her. She was also so generous and patient with me. I was in my first trimester of pregnancy and was very slow to respond but she was AWESOME with me. Thank you so much, Shelley! I'm already looking forward to our next design together!”

“Shelley Brothers, the fantastic creator behind The Accidental Chalk Artist, was a PLEASURE to work with! She was responsive, timely, and open to collaboration. Once our project began, she was able to fly and her final creation exceeded our expectations. I look forward to many more projects with her at Domain NORTHSIDE!”

“We recently had the pleasure of working with The Accidental Chalk Artist to create a mural for our company, and we could not have been happier with the results! From start to finish, Shelley was an absolute delight to work with. Not only is Shelley incredibly skilled, but she’s also professional, reliable, and easy to communicate with. Throughout the process, she was responsive to feedback and made sure that we were completely satisfied with the result. She took the time to understand our vision and brought it to life in a way that surpassed anything we could have imagined. During the time it was displayed, the chalk mural became a focal point of our office, serving as a powerful representation of our company’s values and identity. We are incredibly grateful to The Accidental Chalk Artist for their outstanding work and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to add a touch of creativity and personality to their environment.”
